Addis Ababa July 4/2012 The renovation of Semera Airport in Afar State will fully be finalized within four months, the Ethiopian Airports Enterprise said.
Enterprise engineering, design and construction team leader Azeze Betru told ENA that the renovation work would enable the Airport to provide standard service.
He said construction of traffic control tower and provisional passengers' terminal has so far been finalized.
The renovation work will cost 10 million Birr.
The Ethiopian Airlines on its part said it will commence flight service to Semera Airport immediately after the renovation work is finalized.
Public relations office of the Airlines told ENA that the Airlines is striving to increase its domestic flight destinations.
To this end, the Airlines has planned to buy five aircrafts for the domestic flight service. Currently, the Airlines has eight Bombardier and Q400 aircrafts.
